TPE (TPR) Soft Materials Developed to Emulate Plastic Flowers and Plants

- May 24, 2018 -

Most of the simulation plants are made of plastics. The traditional materials are mainly EVA, PE and PVC. However, in recent years, PVC plastics have been exposed to toxic plasticizers, and the possibility of carcinogenicity during burning has rarely been used to produce plastic flowers. Plants and other simulation products. Environmentally-friendly thermoplastic rubber TPE (TPR) soft material has gradually begun to be used as a raw material for simulation of plastic flowers, plastics, and plants.

Compared with plastics such as PE, TPEs and TPRs are generally used as artificial flowers or plants that have softer, more fleshy leaves or petals. Specifically, when selecting TPE and TPR as artificial plant raw materials, the following aspects should be noted:

1. Surface gloss

Understand the customer's requirements for the appearance of the product, is bright or matte, so as to choose the appropriate TPE, TPR product model;

2. Processability

The TPE and TPR product types that are suitable for fluidity processability should be selected according to the sample size structure of the product to ensure smooth molding process. Qualified TPE, TPR model materials should not shrink, not Feng Feng, no shortage of plastic, etc., but the appropriate TPE, TPR models should have better processing, such as good mold release, molding cycle and so on. These are the things to consider when selecting materials;

3. Environmental protection requirements

The customer's environmental protection requirements should be clarified, such as ROHS or EN71 standard, whether it is required to contain no ortho-benzene plasticizer 916P), non-nonylphenol NP, etc., and as a condition for selecting TPE and TPR models.
